Dyngus Day Dinner

Dyngus Day, also known as Easter Monday is the day after Easter. To celebrate it we went to my cousins house. Aunt Lori, Uncle Bruce, Cousins Michael, Jason, Kira, Tyler, friend Jamal, Michael's wife Lacy, Jason's girlfriend Charyl and our family all had a family dinner together. Thank you Aunt Lori for preparing that delicious meal. Next we played baseball with some of Tyler's friends and then we went home. Then my dad and I went birding and heard a Ruffed Grouse for the first time this year.

Spring Break

"Spring Break" is a week long recess in most schools, it is most commonly from March 16-20th. Most teenagers spend their "Spring Break" in Panama City Beach, Florida or South Padre Island, Texas. Some Universities in Japan have their "Spring Break" begin in April. "Spring Break" is also referred to "March Break", "Study Week" or 'Reading "Week.

Family Day

Family Day is not a official holiday, it was made by a lower group than the government party so most people have to work on this day. Only a few schools consider this day a holiday so most people still have to go to school on this day. The only people that celebrate this day are people in Saskatewhan, Manitoba, Ontario, Arizona and Australia. Anyway, we may be going swimming today.

Remembrance Day

As you all know today is Remembrance Day. We had a assembly at our gymnasium about it, here is my story of it. At Period 4 our class was called down to the gymnasium for the assembly. We sat down there and waited for the other classes to show up. Once they did we began the assembly. Two people from each class and Mr. Grobe (our principal) carried a reef filled with Poppies. Then the Grade 7's read the poem "In Flanders Fields". Then Ms. Pealcha gave us ideas on what to think about in the two minute moment of silence. Then they played the advertisement about Remembrance Day shown on Television 2006 and 2007. Then we did our moment of silence and Mr. Grobe did a speech and we left. It was Period 5 by the time it was over.
